The rules of the American Internet Search Contest are very simple - participants compete by using their ability to quickly find on the Internet the answers to questions given in Russian. There are no limits whatsoever on the use of search tools.
Search Cup will take place over the course of three rounds.

Rules of the First Round
The first round consists of three games. Only one game will be held per day.
You may participate in one or in several games; in the latter case, the highest score achieved is the one that will count.
To participate in the games, you must first register on the registration page.
Registration is ongoing; however, if you register during the course of a game, you may start playing only in the next game.
One game consists of 20 questions. You get one point for each correct answer.
The answer to a question should consist of two parts:
The text of the answer (usually 1-2 words, dates, or numbers)
The URL of the page containing the specified answer
An answer is considered incorrect if any of the following is true:
The answer is lacking or is not specific
The URL is not specified
The document with the indicated URL does not contain the specified answer
The indicated URL is a search result page of some search engine
Thus, your answer will be recognized as correct if the page containing the answer exists and you indicate its URL. It's entirely optional for your answer to be the same as the "correct" answer expected by the organizers.
Games of the first round
Each of the three games of the first round will last for one hour. Each game starts and ends at the same time for all participants. Three minutes are given to answer each question; answers submitted after this time will be ignored.
The answer to each question may be submitted only once. Submittal of an answer before the end of the three-minute time period has no effect on the score calculation.

At the end of the game, a message announcing the end of the game will appear on the game page, along with statistics on the questions, your answers, and the correct answers.
The results of each game will be e-mailed to the participant after they appear on the Results page (2 days after the end of each game).
Remember:
1) An answer typed-in but not submitted will not be sent automatically at the end of the three-minute time period; each player is fully responsible for submitting it on time.
2) Answers which are sent 10-15 seconds before the end of the allocated time may arrive after the clock expires and thus will be ignored.
End of the first round
The winners of the first round are the players in the top 50 places of the score-table.
Rules of the second round

The second round consists of one game only which lasts one hour. The exact format of this game will be announced after the conclusion of the first round.

The Final Game will follow special rules. The finalists must be present in person at the final of the Contest in order to participate in the competition. The exact format of the game will be announced after the conclusion of the second round.
