Elena Kolmanovskaya received M.S. in applied mathematics from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in 1987.
She was a programmer in Moscow from 1987 to 1994.
From 1994 to 1996 she worked in US, focusing on new products and technologies.
Elena joined Yandex in 1996.
She actively participated in design and development of all
Yandex Internet Search Cups.
Currently Elena is a Chief Editor of Yandex.

Arkady Borkovsky

Graduated from
Moscow State University, worked at
Computing Center of Russian Academy of Sciences.
In 1990 co-founded "Arkadia" Company with Arkady Volozh.
Arkadia started developing search software.
The task of the creators was to provide intellectual searching considering inflections,
grammar forms and distances between words. In two years two information search
systems were created.
In US worked at
Wolfram Research,
Verity,
Inktomi and now at
Yahoo!
focusing on intelligent text processing, information extraction, and (web) search.

Sergei Burkov is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded and led three startup companies.
Dulance is the next generation shopping search engine.
Bilbo Innovations, Inc.
invented and brought to market STEP ON IT! computer pedals.
Invincible Data Systems pioneered transparent disk and e-mail encryption.
It was later acquired by VASCO Data Security (NASDAQ: VDSI).
Dr. Burkov is a former research physicist who held appointments at top American universities, including
Cornell University and the
University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Burkov obtained Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the
Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics
and M.S. in physics with Honors, from
Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Ilya Mironov, Ph.D.
Researcher, Microsoft Research Lab
Ilya Mironov works in cryptography in Microsoft Research (Silicon Valley Campus).
He graduated from
St. Petersburg State University
in 1999 and received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from
Stanford in 2003.
He participated in the final round of
the first Yandex Cup in 1999.
